I am looking for way to serve point cloud images (LiDAR, etc.) to QGIS in a simple fashion without setting up a Mapserver/Geoserver etc. Does anyone know of a web based service that can take these large image sets and serve them back inexpensively?

I mean a company that would take your imagery and host it back to you as WMTS so you would NOT have to host it yourself. At most it would be up to 0.5 Tb of data.

  • WMTS is a service

  • Maybe the question was not clear. I meant a company that would take your imagery and host it back to you as WMTS so you would NOT have to host yourself.

  • Please edit the question to add more detail. For example how much data are you talking about. What is your budget, or what do you think is inexpensive?

    – nmtoken

  • I would say 0.5 Tb would be the outside. It's LiDAR data so as with all point cloud information it can get quite large. My budget is irrelevant to the question being asked. There either is a service or there is not.

  • Can you edit the question rather than add clarifications in comments. I asked about budget because currently you have inexpensively in the question, what do you mean by that term if not that you have a budget

Possibly the MapTiler cloud Unlimited plan will fit your needs for data volumes and WMTS service provision.

There is some LiDAR support
