A single... what? Feature? Not possible. Workstep? Also not possible. You need the width as attributes on the corresponding part of the river, then use this attribute to buffer.

A single... what? Feature? Not possible. Workstep? Also not possible. You need the width as attributes on the corresponding part of the river, then use this attribute to buffer.
