I have a dataset with among others longitude and latitude as variables for about 600 points. I also have the spatial coordinate of the highway. I would like to measure the cross-fly distance between The points and the line (highway). It is my first time to work on GIS in R. I would like to know your input in which packages I can use and the best method to achieve that.
